1 dead, 1 hurt when driver fleeing police causes crash in N Miami

Miami, FL – A woman in her 20s died at the scene of a two-car collision in the North Bay Village area of Miami on Friday morning, Local 10 News reports.

The incident occurred at 4 AM in the vicinity of Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 82nd Street after police tried and failed to pull over a speeding driver. They say that the fleeing driver struck another vehicle, causing one to erupt into flames.

One woman was pronounced dead at the scene while another was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

The identities of the two drivers have not been released, and it is unclear which one caused the collision.

Police are still investigating the causes of the incident.
