ORLANDO, FL – A truck driver died in Orange County when a car crashed into the rear of his truck on the Central Florida GreeneWay Sunday morning.
Fox 35 Orlando reports that the accident happened just before 2:30 a.m. on the southbound side of SR-417 near Wyndham Lakes Boulevard.
Police say a car travelling at a high rate of speed crashed into the rear of a semi-truck without a trailer. The semi-truck veered off of the roadway, hit a guardrail, and overturned. The car went on to hit a barrier and guardrail after hitting the truck.
The truck driver died at the scene of the crash. Authorities have not yet identified him.
The driver of the car was transported to an area hospital with non-critical injuries. Police indicate that charges are pending against the 47-year-old Orlando man.
