Miami Gardens, FL – One person was hospitalized after a car collided with a semi-truck on Northwest 27th Avenue, and both vehicles caught fire, reports Local 10 News.
According to local police, the incident occurred before 4:15AM on Tuesday when a blue Nissan Maxima crashed into the side of an 18-wheeler as the truck driver turned left across Northwest 27th Avenue near 166th Street.
The vehicles burst into flames upon impact, and Miami-Dade firefighters were called to the scene twice to put the fire out.
The cleanup was extensive because the truck had been carrying a large quantity of seafood, and much of the inventory fell into the road after the crash.
The driver of the sedan was taken to a local hospital, but police say any injuries caused by the incident were non-life-threatening for both drivers.
