2-Car Collision in S Miami Kills Infant

MIAMI, FL – A 3-month-old baby died, and four others were injured on Sunday in a two-car accident on the northbound side of the Turnpike in Miami-Dade, reports NBC 6.

Police say the accident occurred around 3:15 a.m. when the front of a Toyota sedan collided with the rear of a Ford sedan near Quail Roost Drive.

An adult occupant of the Ford says his car was pulled to the side of the road due to engine trouble at the time of the collision.

The Ford was carrying four people, all of whom were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center where the infant later died. A 1-year-old passenger was also injured in the crash.

The driver of the Toyota was also taken to an area hospital for non-critical injuries.
