OSCEOLA COUNTY, FL – Two people died, and two others were injured in a wrong-way crash near Whittier on Wednesday.
Leesburg-News reported the crash happened on State Road 60 at 9:22 am Wednesday. Roads were closed, including from the Polk County line to U.S Hwy 441.
Police say the 63-year-old male driver of a 2017 Hyundai Elantra crossed into the oncoming lanes in an attempt to pass a semi-truck and collided with an oncoming Ford F-150.
The Hyundai Elantra’s driver and his 62-year-old female passenger died on the scene. The two men in the Ford, ages 36 and 37, were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
