Narrative
CAPE CORAL, FL – A 13-year-old boy succumbed to fatal injuries after he was struck by a Hyundai Sonata driver while riding his electric scooter Saturday. This deadly crash happened before 2:15 p.m. at the West Retunda Parkway and Academy Boulevard intersection. Cape Coral Police said the scooter rider — Justin Argenti — entered the intersection with marked signs reading “Cross Traffic Does Not Stop.” When the Argenti was struck, he was dragged 50 feet and ejected 75 feet and landed in front of a yard. Medics rushed him to a hospital, where he succumbed to fatal injuries.
