Narrative
LAKE WALES, FL – A driver of a white 2017 GMC Sierra pickup truck died Monday night after he crashed into a Freightliner semi-truck making a U-turn on U.S. 27. This collision was reported before 7:30 p.m. The pickup truck driver was traveling north in an outside lane. Upon colliding with the semi, the pickup truck driver succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene. The semi-truck driver was unharmed. Polk County deputies issued a closure for U.S. 27 that was in effect for four hours before reopening. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has not released the name of the deceased man.
