Narrative
COLLIER CO., FL – Two women died, and a 4-year-old girl sustained critical injuries in a two-vehicle crash along a highway in Collier County.
The incident happened just after midnight at the intersection of FL-29 and Oil Well Road, which is just south of Harker.
Police say that a southbound truck t-boned a westbound SUV when the driver of the SUV failed to yield right-of-way at the intersection. Both vehicles overturned along the roadway.
The driver and passenger in the SUV died as a result of their injuries. Authorities have not yet released their identities to the public.
A child in the rear of the SUV went to the hospital in critical condition.
The truck driver sustained minor injuries; it’s unclear if they required hospitalization.
