Narrative
BOYNTON BEACH, FL – Two women, a mother and daughter, died Tuesday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash in southeastern Palm Beach County.
The accident happened around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Meadows Boulevard and North Congress Avenue, which is on the north side of Boynton Beach.
Police say that the victims were turning from North Congress Avenue onto Meadows Boulevard when a car travelling in the opposite direction on North Congress struck them.
Authorities identified the victims as Marcia Pochette and Jenice Woods. Evidence indicates that Woods may have been pregnant at the time of the accident.
The 23-year-old driver in the other car fled the scene of the accident, but police quickly found and apprehended him. He will face charges for leaving the scene of an accident. It’s unclear if he will face any additional charges.
A full investigation is underway.
