Narrative
BOYNTON BEACH, FL – One person died Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi along Florida’s Turnpike in Boynton Beach.
The crash occurred at 11:25 a.m. on the southbound side of the toll road just past Boynton Beach Boulevard. This is just south of the toll plaza.
Police say a speeding 2020 Mercedes Benz C63 coupe rear-ended an 18-wheeler and became lodged beneath the trailer of the truck.
The driver of the Mercedes died at the scene. Authorities have not yet disclosed their name to the public.
Medics transported the truck driver to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
Officials closed the southbound lanes of the Turnpike in the area of the crash while crews worked to clear the scene.
