Narrative
NAPLES, FL – Four people died, and another sustained critical injuries Saturday in a solo crash along the interstate in northwestern Collier County.
The accident happened around 6:22 a.m. on the southbound side of I-75 near mile marker 110, which is near the North Collier Regional Park Soccer Fields.
Police say a vehicle split after crashing into a tree when the driver lost control while changing lanes and left the interstate.
The impact killed the 18-year-old driver and two-19-year-old passengers. A fourth person, a 21-year-old woman, died later at the hospital. Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims.
Medics transported a 16-year-old to the hospital with critical injuries.
