Female pedestrian dies after getting hit by car in Sunny Isles Beach

SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FL – A car and pedestrian crash in Sunny Isles Beach claimed a woman’s life Monday, WSVN reported.

The accident happened around 4:30 pm. A car ran over a female pedestrian on 159th Street and Collins Avenue. It is unknown if the driver was influenced by drugs and alcohol or was impaired. The driver did stay at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Police did not state if the pedestrian was killed at the scene or if she was transported to a hospital where she died. In addition, they did not release her’s or the driver’s name.

The site of the crash was closed and has reopened.
