PLANTATION/LAUDERHILL, FL- Man ran from a crash on foot but was later caught by his victims in Broward County on Oct 17, NBC Miami reports.
Canard Tyrell Roberson was driving a 2009 Pontiac G6 when he drove into a 2016 Nissan Maxima in Plantation. The Nissan, containing Brandon Smart and Derrick Taujours, had stopped because of traffic when it was rear-ended. This occurred at 4700 W. Sunrise Boulevard.
After striking the Nissan, Roberson took off driving on Northwest 47 Avenue. Smart and Taujours followed in pursuit.
Upon arriving at 1100 Northwest 46 Avenue, both vehicles stopped driving and all the men began to argue.
Roberson darted off on foot with Smart catching and restraining him until police arrived.
Both Lauderhill Police and Plantation Police responded to the chase which ended in Lauderhill.
Taujours was seen at Plantation General Hospital for a stiff neck. Smart and Roberson did not consent to medical treatment. Each vehicle was left with about $10,000 of damage.
Roberson was arrested. He had had his license suspended at the end of 2020 and was therefore charged for this incident under various accounts, including driving with his license suspended.
