Narrative
A passenger in a stopped car was killed when the vehicle was rear-ended by an oncoming semitruck on Florida’s Turnpike on Feb. 21st. Around 6:45a.m., the semi crushed the back of the silver Ford Escape SUV close to mile marker 46. After the contact with the semi, the SUV was then pushed towards the median. It is not known why the SUV was stationary in a main lane of the turnpike. The 26 year-old driver was not in the car when the semi collided with the SUV. The 20 year-old male passenger, however, was still in the vehicle, and he later died at HCA Florida Aventura Hospital. The 38 year-old truck driver was not harmed. There is an investigation still occurring on this case.
