Orlando cyclist killed by car on SR-599 in Polk County

POLK COUNTY, FL – A cyclist was killed around 7:09 am Sunday after he was run over by a car on SR-559.

According to Click Orlando, the collision happened near Auburndale north of Sunset Lane. The 31-year-old cyclist of Orlando suffered life-threatening injuries, but it was unclear if he was hospitalized or died at the scene.

The driver, a 26-year-old Auburndale resident, did not suffer any injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol troopers did not release more information about the crash.
