Narrative
DAVENPORT, FL – A man died, and a woman sustained serious injuries Saturday in a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in northeast Polk County.
The accident occurred shortly before 3 a.m. in the area of US-27 and I-4 in northwest Davenport. This is about 36 miles southwest of Orlando.
Police say that a southbound blue Suzuki motorcycle collided with a southbound White Toyota Tundra when the driver of the latter vehicle failed to yield right of way as he exited a parking lot onto US-27 southbound.
The motorcycle operator died after he was airlifted along with the female passenger to an area hospital. The passenger sustained critical injuries.
Authorities say that helmets were not in use.
