FORT PIERCE, FL – A collision between a tractor trailer and a sedan on Florida’s Turnpike in St. Lucie County killed one person on Wednesday, TCPalm reports.
Police say the accident occurred early Wednesday morning when a BMW and semi-truck collided. Both vehicles were headed south on the turnpike.
One occupant from the BMW sedan was thrown from the vehicle and died. Another car occupant was taken to an area hospital.
The truck driver did not sustain any injuries in the wreck.
Authorities say an investigation is underway.
