SUMTER CO., FL – A 55-year-old motorcyclist from Georgia died when he collided with a trailer tire on southbound I-75 in Sumter County on Thursday, WFLA reports.
Police say the tire fell off of a trailer that was hitched to the pickup truck of a man from Winter Haven. The pickup truck driver had also been traveling south on I-75 when the accident occurred.
The motorcyclist was ejected from his bike when the tire hit him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver did not sustain injuries.
