PUNTA GORDA, FL – Two people died Monday night when a pickup truck and sedan collided head-on on U.S. 41 in Charlotte County, ABC 7 reports.
Police say the crash happened around 8:30 p.m. near Zemel Road in Punta Gorda. A 46-year-old man from North Port drove his pickup truck south in a northbound lane of U.S. 41. The pickup truck crashed head-on into a sedan driven by a 31-year-old man from Punta Gorda.
The collision killed both drivers.
The circumstances of the accident remain under investigation.
